Accolades pile up as Nouvola earns recognition (and cash) from the angel community
You might have called it beginner’s luck last year, when Nouvola won first prize at the Bend Venture Conference. But now we’re halfway through 2014 and we have multiple awards under our belt. Our business is resonating with the angel investor community, the media, and most important, with companies that recognize the value of our technology.
In May, Nouvola took first place and won a $215,000 cash prize at the Southern Oregon Angel Conference. In April, we took first place in the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network’s Angel Oregon competition, taking home $256,000 to help us expand our business.
Since then, we’ve been featured in this Engine documentary on startup cities, which highlights the talent and innovation in Portland. Check out the video, to see CEO Paola Moretto and other local entrepreneurs and VCs discussing the Portland startup scene. On the heels of some of our recent success, Moretto was asked about the business’ “secret sauce.” Nouvola is the cloud performance analytics solution that developers love. We delight our customers with zero-friction performance testing, real-life scenarios and in-depth cloud performance analytics across any load, any device, any geo.
We’ve been featured in The Oregonian, MailTribune, and Portland Business Journal, which highlighted our encouraging progress in the “perilous pursuit” of starting a company. GeekWire featured Nouvola in its Startup Spotlight as a company with a solution that helps businesses avoid “cloud deployment disasters.” And, we’re seeing more and more recognition of the cloud as an important enabling technology. Oregon Business published a lengthy article on this topic, noting that several companies in Portland, including Nouvola, had emerged to help businesses make the most of cloud technology.
All this recognition is more than just gratifying. It provides our company the resources to take our technology to the next level, expand our staff and reach more customers. We have increased our active customer base by 600% since launch. These customers use our technology because they want to they delight their user base by delivering the speed and responsiveness their users want. Our customers have realized that web performance is a competitive advantage and our solutions can help them ensure optimal, consistent performance.
While our expertise will always be in the cloud, our outlook is sunny. At a time when businesses and municipalities are increasingly dependent on the cloud to reach their audience, we’re optimistic we’ll be able to help more of them achieve the performance they want and offer a smooth and seamless customer experience.
